Details of the dataset

• Based on images of cells captured by automated microscope (Octopi)
  • Type of image data: Images captured at 2 hours (fixed time) after sample preparation
• Participants: Normal, sickle cell disease, sickle cell trait, beta-thalassemia
• 300,000 images; 1.5 trillion segmented cells
• In “sickling test”, shape of cells change from round to sickled shapes (variety of shapes) for samples with sickling mutation
